Cops: Father gave infant meth, led to seizures

PHOENIX - A Phoenix man is in custody after his baby son allegedly ingested methamphetamine off the father's thumb.

Authorities say 24-year-old Christopher Telles is being held on suspicion of child abuse.

Court records show Telles brought the infant to a Maricopa County, Ariz., hospital on April 27. CBS affiliate KPHO reports the 11-week-old boy was suffering from seizures.

Police say Telles later told officers that he had crushed a rock-like form of methamphetamine the previous day. When the infant was crying, Telles told police that he used his thumb - which had methamphetamine on it - to calm the baby down.

Telles was arrested Wednesday.
