Cops: Airline passenger who drank eight lemon drop shots causes emergency landing

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A United Airlines flight made an emergency landing in Nashville, Tennessee, after an apparently intoxicated passenger caused a disturbance.

An arrest affidavit from Metro Nashville Police says the passenger, Mohammed Nasser Aldoseri, 26, told officers he had eight lemon drop shooters before boarding Monday’s flight from Cincinnati to Houston, reports CBS affiliate WTVF. The pilot diverted the flight after police say Aldoseri broke down an out-of-service lavatory door, threw up in a sink and then began “to speak in Arabic very loudly,” the police report stated.

News outlets report the affidavit says officers found Aldoseri passed out in his seat when the plane landed. Police said he had slurred speech, red, glassy eyes and was unsteady on his feet.

Aldoseri told police he’s a student at Texas Southern University in Houston. There’s no evidence that he had any weapon.

He was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication. Federal charges were pending, the station reports.
