Conan O'Brien presents "Mrs. Butterworth: The Movie"

(CBS) On "Conan" Tuesday, Conan O'Brien lamented the glut of movies based on toys and TV shows he loved as a kid. Suggesting that Hollywood has "scrape[d] the bottom of the barrel," he presented a trailer for "Butterworth."

An ominous voiceover intones, "When justice runs thin only one woman has what it takes to pour it on thick."

And then we see Mrs. Buttersworth brandishing a couple of big guns, seeking vengeance for the Quaker man's death and confronting "the forces of evil," the Hamburger Helper mascot, Mr. Peanut and Dora the Explorer.

Perhaps the best joke comes at the end of the fake trailer. One of the screenplay's writers is listed as Doris Kearns Goodwin, author of "Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln."

And remember: The only thing thicker than syrup is blood.
