Cindy McCain Returns from "Shopping" Injury
(CBS)
LONDONDERRY, N.H. -- After being gone 10 weeks for knee replacement surgery, John McCain's wife, Cindy, is back aboard the Straight Talk Express.
The bus met up with her on the way to the last town hall meeting of Saturday night in Londonderry.
Sen. McCain introduced her, as he has been since she hurt herself, jokingly explaining that she injured her knee while "shopping."
The crowd laughed, as they usually do when he tells this bit, and sometimes he warns, "Let this he a lesson to you ladies."
Last night, Mrs. McCain revealed the part of the story her husband had left out of his jokes for the past several weeks: she actually hurt herself while "shopping for groceries."
