Christina Aguilera's National Anthem Goof: Do We All Really Know the Words?

Christina Aguilera has taken a lot of grief for muffing the lyrics to the national anthem during the Super Bowl - says she got lost in the moment. Let's face it: ours is not an easy anthem to sing. It may give you goose bumps when you hear it, but, singing it can give you a headache. Honestly do you sing the entire anthem when you're at the ball park? Unless you start way down here - "Oh, say can you see" - you'll never be able to reach "O'er the land of the free."  When we were kids we used to sing a couple of different songs. "America the Beautiful" - "Oh beautiful for spacious skies for amber waves of grain" - or, "My country tis of thee, sweet land of liberty of thee I sing."  The songs are arguably prettier. And a lot easier to sing. And maybe a lot more of us...would sing along.
