Calif. Woman Lured Ex with Sex, Had Current Boyfriend Kill Him

Woman Sentenced for Luring Ex To Be Slain

(CBS/AP) Prosecutors say an Orange County woman has been sentenced to 15 years to life in prison after she lured her ex-boyfriend with the promise of sex, then had her current boyfriend kill him.

The district attorney's office said Thursday that 28-year-old Veronica Paz pleaded guilty to one felony count of second-degree murder, in the shooting death of Diego Gonzalez.

She was initially convicted in the killing in 2006 but that was overturned due to an institutional error.

Prosecutors say Paz promised her ex-boyfriend Gonzalez sex and lured him to a residential area.

There, Paz's boyfriend at the time, Brandan Dante Perry, shot Gonzalez twice in the head.

Perry pleaded guilty in 2006 to first degree murder. Authorities say the pair tried to dispose of Gonzalez's body by setting it on fire.
