NEW YORK (CBS) Britney Spears knows first hand fame can be tough.

When the pop star mom was asked what she thought about fame for her kids, she quipped in an interview with Cosmopolitan magazine, according to the Huffington Post, "If my sons told me they wanted to be in the entertainment business, I'd lock them in their rooms until they turned 30."

Spears, 28, revealed that tidbit -- and a bare midriff -- in the August issue of the magazine, where she opened up about being a mom to sons Sean Preston, 4, and Jayden James, 3.

Even though the "Womanizer" singer is known for her sexy lyrics and outfits, she said she's not looking forward to the "birds and the bees" talk with her boys.

"I'm dreading the moment when my sons ask me how babies are made," Spears said.

Spears' life in the spotlight has been anything but ordinary. But the anecdotes about her children make it seem like the singer is in a more comfortable phase of her life -- thanks to her sons.

"Things are pretty quiet right now. I've been spending a lot of time at home with my boys," Spears told the magazine. "They just started karate class, which is super cute!"

The August issue of Cosmopolitan with Britney Spears is available now on newsstands.
