(CBS) Authorities say 26-year-old Bollywood actress Meenakshi Thapar was kidnapped and beheaded by two fellow actors she met on the set of her latest movie "Heroine."

According to the London Telegraph, Amit Jaiswal and Preeti Surin, who were romantically involved, plotted to kidnap Thapar after she boasted about her family's wealth and status in Dehra Dun, in northern India.

Jaiswal and Preeti reportedly invited Thapar on a trip to the town of Gorakhpur in India where they took her hostage.

The two allegedly demanded 1,500,000 Rupees ($29,000) from Thapar's family, warning that they would force the actress to take part in pornography films if their demands were not met, the Telegraph reports.

Thapar's mother reportedly paid a portion of the ransom, 60,000 Rupees ($1,200), but her daughter was allegedly killed and dismembered shortly afterwards.

Police later caught Jaiswal and Surin in possession of the actress' sim card and the two confessed, the Telegraph reports.
