Blanchett: A Queen And A Rock Star
Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett has been a queen and a rock star and now she has a secret.
Blanchett, who reprised her role as Queen Elizabeth I in "Elizabeth: The Golden Age" and is one of six actors playing Bob Dylan in the soon-to-open "I'm Not There," has just wrapped up "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," the fourth installment of the franchise that began in 1979.
"My kids and I had a ball," she said. "I mean, I grew up on that franchise."
The fourth movie has been kept tightly under wraps and Blanchett and everyone else involved are legally bound not to reveal any details.

Photos: Cate Blanchett"I suppose with the Internet it's so difficult to keep anything secret," she said. "Personally, as an audience member, I don't like knowing stuff about the film."
In "Elizabeth: The Golden Age," which is now in theaters, Blanchett repirses the riole that vaulted her into super-stardom 10 years ago.
She plays a monarch determined to lead England to victory over its enemies. She is a queen who is not afraid to go into battle with her troops.
"She's an amazing diplomat and politician," Blanchett said of Elizabeth I in an interview with The Early Show co-anchor Harry Smith. "And when you think about that moment when she arrived in front of the troops, I mean, where was Bush after 9/11? And we had a female monarch, arriving at the battle scene."
She has learned a lot since making the first "Elizabeth" movie. At that time, she was still "green," and had been working mostly in theater.
"It was probably the second or third film I ever made," she said. "I had no sense of consequence, nothing to lose. And I think when you play a character, we didn't realize it was going to connect with the audience the way it did. And there's sense of expectation that you sort of have to kind of ignore and just get down and play the character and the script. It's odd."
Blanchett has been extremely busy in the past year. She was one of six actors who played Bob Dylan in the upcoming movie "I'm Not There," and won the Venice Film Festival award for best actress.
"It was fun. And I think Todd Haines, who directed the film, was really smart in casting a woman because ... if you had a man play it, people would be looking for the imitation of #151; you automatically distance it with having a woman play it," she said. "I was completely liberated."
