Bill Gates To Testify Before Congress

Microsoft founder Bill Gates will testify before the House Science and Technology Committee on March 12.

Gates will speak about the future of innovation, U.S. competitiveness and the need for improvements in science education.

With a net worth of over $59 billion, Gates is the richest man in America, according to rankings by Forbes magazine. After stepping down as head of Microsoft, he has focused on his charitable giving in the last few years.

The former Microsoft CEO will also discuss the need for immigration reform to allow for highly skilled workers to remain in the United States, a key issue for the technology sector.

Gates’ appearance, announced Monday, is the first in a series of Science Committee hearings on challenges to the country’s innovation agenda, as the committee celebrates its 50th anniversary.
