(CBS) The new season of "Bethenny Ever After" premiered on Monday night, with Bethenny Frankel expanding her empire and buying a new apartment with husband Jason Hoppy, but the TV personality shared some sobering news before the episode aired.

On Monday morning, the TV personality revealed on the "Today" show that she had suffered a miscarriage.

When asked if she and Hoppy, who have a 21-month-old daughter named Bryn, were thinking about expanding their family, Frankel replied, "We were pregnant with a second baby and at eight weeks I miscarried and that was a very emotional experience. It had a lot of different things that came with it."

"I'm 41, and I don't know. It's not really my choice. It's not really my option. The window is closing," she said, adding that it happened recently and will not be seen on her reality show.

Frankel said that she's grateful for her daughter, but is "not really thinking about" trying to have another child.

"I have thought about other women more than myself," she continued. "I can't believe what people must go through if they can't even have the one. ... You go through a roller coaster of emotions about it."

Frankel also appeared on Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live" on Monday night, where she discussed her upcoming daytime talk show, which will air on Fox stations beginning June 11.

"It's a girlfriends show, but it's really honest," she said. "Just what's really going on, have an honest conversation without it being just me being in the fishbowl. I want to involve everyone in the conversation."
