"Bachelorette" 2010 Ali Fedotowsky Gets Second Shot At Love
NEW YORK (CBS) The search is on. ABC's "The Bachelorette" kicked off Monday night with Ali Fedotowsky looking for true love among 25 strapping suitors.
Ali is no stranger to the series, now in its 20th season. Followers of its counterpart "The Bachelor" will remember the 25-year-old as the bubbly blonde in Jake Pavelka's Final Four, who gave up a shot at love to keep a job. Well, folks, she's back and not making the same mistake this time. She says she's "ready to open up and get that guy [she] should've had before."
As for the eligible men carted out: not bad. They included two guys in tuxes jumping and back-flipping off limos (Frank and Jason, respectively) and this ukelele serenade by country boy Hunter: "My name is Hunter, and I'm 28/Came on the show to find a soulmate" - you're in for a spontaneously good time.
Needless to say, the corny, first-date cheese ran high. Almost to the point of creepiness. Really, the whole scrapbook thing Kirk constructed for Ali was cute, but kind of freaky. When she reacted favorably, however, his "You're actually reading this?" response was comical.
These gents did their homework, though. Fish lures, toy weather balloons and matching yellow- Ali's favorite color, by the way - key chains as gifts were pretty endearing.
Luckily, the Final 15 include "Rated R" wrestler Justin (who passed the initial cut after the boys wanted to send him packing); "rated dishonest" Craig R.; weatherman Jonathan; recently divorced Ty; ukulele-playing Hunter; Cape Cod stud Chris L.; "heart protecting" Kasey; scrapbook-making Kirk; "hair guy" Craig M.; John "Cubic Zirconium" C.; aspiring screenwriter Frank; and the not-so-memorable foursome of Tyler B., Steve, Chris N. and H.
Ali's judge of character seems pretty keen. These gents are sure to give us plenty of action as the series unfolds.
