Axelrod Meets With Senate Democrats
Obama senior adviser David Axelrod addressed the Senate Democratic policy luncheon on Tuesday, providing lawmakers with a briefing on the state of the campaign.
Afterwords, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) told reporters that Axelrod addressed the caucus for 15 minutes about a variety of issues.
Reid said Axelrod was "extremely positive" about fellow democratic Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, who was not in attendance
Senate Majority Whip Richard J. Durbin (D-Ill.) arranged the meeting for Obama, who is set to meet with a group of Hispanic lawmakers later in the day at Democratic National Committee headquarters.
Durbin said Axelrod and other Democrats discussed, "what we've been through and what we're about to face."
