(CBS) Arnold Schwarzenegger was injured this week in Albuquerque, N.M., while on the set of "The Last Stand," his first starring role since leaving his California governor post in January.

But in true action hero style, the 64-year-old actor returned to filming in no time, despite a large gash on his forehead.

"Got a little banged up on set today," he tweeted Thursday, along with a photo. "Thanks to the medical staff who got me back in action an hour later!"

There's no word on how Schwarzenegger got hurt. He's been tweeting updates from the set since early November.

"Albuquerque is getting cold, so I bought some warm clothes for my crew today," Schwarzenegger wrote earlier this month. "Thanks to the employees who helped me!"

Schwarzenegger portrays a small-town sheriff in "The Last Stand," which hits theaters in 2013. The film also stars Forest Whitaker, Johnny Knoxville, Luis Guzman and others.
