Arizona policewoman demoted after allegedly sending sexually explicit photos, videos, police say

KPHO

(CBS/AP) TUCSON, Ariz. - An Arizona police lieutenant was demoted after allegedly sending sexually explicit photos and videos of herself to a subordinate officer, police said Monday.

Lt. Diana Lopez of the Tucson Police Department is accused of using her personal cell phone to send the images. Police said Lopez was reduced to the rank of sergeant following an investigation that began in August 2012.

The Arizona Daily Star reported that anonymous letters sent to the police department about Lopez reportedly prompted the probe.

A police report said Lopez's boyfriend apparently showed the videos and photos to other officers from May 2011 through August 2011.

Police said Lopez violated several department regulations, ethics codes and professional standards. A recommendation was made to reduce her in rank.
