Amy (Duggar) King's parents are divorcing

The parents of Amy (Duggar) King are getting divorced after nine years together.

King, whose mother Deanna is Jim Bob Duggar's older sister, confirmed to People that her parents are splitting up.

"They've had a roller-coaster relationship for as long I can remember," she said of her mom and dad Terry Jordan. "I've always been the mediator between them, instead of just being their daughter I was also the counselor."

Her parents wed in 2006 but separated in December. Jordan claimed in court documents that he left his wife due to her "intolerable" treatment.

"I've learned it's not my place to try and 'fix' their relationship anymore," she said. "They are grown adults and I am, too."

King herself just got married to husband Dillon in September, amidst the scandal swirling around her cousin Josh Duggar.

Her father, who is an artist, painted romantic signs that were set up at the wedding and walked King down the aisle to the song "I Can't Help Falling in Love With You."

King is much more liberal than her cousins; she served alcohol at her wedding and wore a strapless gown, both of which are no-nos for Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and their children.

King said her husband has been a rock for her during her parents' split, and even got her a kitten and a car for Christmas.

"I couldn't ask for a better husband," she said.
