“[John McCain] has been written off for dead, I don’t know how many times," Kyl told Politico on Monday evening. "I view this race a little bit like the tortoise and the hare. Obama sprints ahead and my, he looks marvelous. He preens and primps and meanwhile the turtle slowly goes by him, and he has to sprint ahead again, look so fine in front of a huge audience. Meanwhile, the turtle just keeps plugging away. And I think to some extent that is a metaphor for this race. So compared to several months ago, I am feeling good about John McCain’s chances.”
