Adam Scott is an "A.C.O.D" in new trailer

Adam Scott is tackling mommy and daddy issues in the new comedy "A.C.O.D."

The film's title stands for "Adult Children of Divorce" and refers to Scott's character, Carter, still dealing with the fallout of his parents' (Catherine O'Hara and Richard Jenkins) split 15 years after the fact.

A new trailer for the film was released on Friday, where we get to see Scott's "Parks and Recreation" co-star Amy Poehler playing his step-mother, who is basically the same age as him.

Other co-stars include Jessica Alba and Clark Duke.

"Glee" cast member Jane Lynch is also shown in several clips. She plays the author of a book detailing Carter's reaction when he was a kid to his parents' divorce. Now an adult, Carter gets put under the microscope again as it's clear he's still feeling the effects of their failed relationship.

Both of his parents are seen as incredibly abrasive. Take his mother for instance, who tells Carter's brother (Duke), "Darling, you were an accident."

You can hear more one-liners below in the film's trailer.

Screened at this year's Sundance Film Festival, "A.C.O.D." hits theaters on Oct. 4.
