Abul Yazid Still Alive?

Al Qaeda's chief of operations in Afghanistan Abu Said al Masri, who is also known as Moustafa Abu al Yazid, may still be alive. There were reports in mid August that Abu al Yazid had been killed, but a statement allegedly signed by Abu al Yazid was sent to the Pajhwok Afghan News. The statement announced the death of one of its top military commanders in Afghanistan Abu Gharib al Makki from Saudi Arabia, and said he was killed in a battle with U.S. and Afghan troops in Farah province. The statement was signed by Abu Al Yazid, who praised al Makki as a brave commander and asked his family to pray for him and not to wait anymore for his return. He also vowed to take revenge on US and Afghan forces.
