5-year-old piano prodigy performs for grandmother

(CBS News) There's a chance you may have heard about Ryan Wang, a 5-year-old piano prodigy, at some point in time. What you may not know is that he has a grandmother who is 101-years-old and absolutely adores hearing him play. (Though, you probably aren't too surprised by that tidbit, either.) However, there's one small catch: she's hard of hearing and hasn't been able to fully enjoy his music for a while. So one organization decided to set up an intimate performance between these two that you should definitely check out above. And you might want to have a tissue ready...

Hang on a sec', I've got a little something in my eye. (And I may need to give my own grandmother a quick call right now, too.) The touching repertoire performed by young Ryan Wang for his grandmother, Dorothy Landry, was posted on YouTube by CBC Music who write about it:

Dorothy is 101 years old and perhaps Ryan's biggest fan. Even though she has seen him perform before she is hard of hearing so never fully got to experience Ryan playing. She gets a front row seat for this performance.
While we've got the Weekend Music Round-Up happening a bit later today, this makes for a very sweet musical preview in the meantime. (Also possibly a reminder to visit or call your older relatives!) And for more from CBC Music, be sure to visit their YouTube page by clicking here.
