Woman Sues Seal Beach Nursing Home For Alleged Elder Abuse
SEAL BEACH (AP) — A Seal Beach nursing facility has been accused of wrongly drugging a 68-year-old patient for months to take over her Social Security payments.
In a suit filed Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior court, former preschool teacher Marsha Davis accuses Country Villa's facility in Seal Beach of failing to care for her properly and doping her up with medications for schizophrenia, dementia.
Davis says she was also allegedly given powerful psychotropic drugs, including Ativan, without a prescription, warning or a psychiatric evaluation.
Country Villa, which owns and operates dozens of healthcare centers in California, did not immediately provide comment.
