Where To Eat Gluten Free Food In Los Angeles

Eating gluten free is a lifestyle choice for some, a fad for others, and for a select lucky few celiacs like myself, a challenge when it comes to dining out. Luckily, Los Angeles boasts quite a few fabulous gluten free options for GF diners no matter the reasons they follow this lifestyle. Here are some of LA's Best gluten free restaurant options.

With an entire menu of plant-based, gluten-free, organic options, Powerplant is a must try for gluten-free diners in the Pico/Fairfax area. Everything served onsite, from burgers to tacos, sandwiches, salads, soups, and appetizers, is gluten-free. Breakfast is also served all day, allowing you to get your gf avocado toast whenever you want it.

Grom, a traditional Italian gelaterie, boasts three LA locations including Century City, Hollywood & Malibu. EVO Kitchen is a favorite of gluten-free and vegan Angelinos and for good reason: although they serve options that suit diners of any needs (meat lovers, bread lovers, etc…), they prep with separate stations, tools, refrigeration, and utensils for all of their gluten free dishes meaning that the restaurant is fabulous (and safe) for everyone in your party. Gluten-free favorites on the menu include LA's #1 gluten-free pizza, baked hot wings, mushroom caps, and a flourless chocolate cake in addition to their four varieties of gluten-free beer.

The nutrient-rich, gluten-free meals at Sqirl are a recommended option for dining out in LA according to Jennie Miremadi, a certified nutritionist. "Not only is the food delicious, they use high quality, whole foods ingredients in all of the dishes that they serve, many of which are gluten-free." Sqirl menu items are designated GF, or GFO (gluten-free options); other dietary options are also displayed. Their gluten-free bowls (featured in the image above) are customer favorites.

Organic, vegan, gluten and soy-free options are all that is served onsite at Elderberries Threefold Cafe, dedicated to kindness, care, and consideration. Typically glutinous favorites like French Toast (a variety of toppings are available), bagels, and frittatas, will start a gluten-free breakfast off right while salads, wraps, and even gooey, melty mac and cheese and paninis (patty melt, anyone?) provide an amazing lunch. Without modifications, gluten free options include an Avocado and Cherry Tomatoes Salad, Tuscan Kale and Tangerines Salad, Shaved Brussel Sprouts and Dates, Ahi Tuna and Avocado Poke, the Salmon Avocado "Louie" Salad, Seared Pepper Crusted Ahi Tuna, and Red Miso Short Rib.
