Sex Offender Seeks Re-Election As Student Body President Of Riverside City College

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — The student body president of Riverside City College is hoping to be re-elected in May, even though it was revealed earlier this month that he was a registered sex offender.

Doug Figueroa, 40, has been the voice of the students since May 2012.

On April 1, anonymous flyers were distributed around campus that said he was a "molester of children."

Figueroa, who can be found on California's Megan's Law website, was convicted of kidnapping and molesting a child under 14 in 2011.

He was later put on 10 years' probation.

Administrators said Figueroa volunteered the information and it was put on file when he enrolled.
