Firefighters Rescue Trapped Teens From LA Wash In Arleta
ARLETA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say they've rescued two teenagers who were trapped in the Los Angeles wash underneath the Laurel Canyon Bridge in Arleta.
The incident was reported by LAFD Spokesman Erik Scott about 3:42 p.m. Friday.
Aerial footage of the rescue showed the teens climbing up a ladder just before 4:26 p.m.
"They actually have both. A boy and a girl," reported Sky9's Gil Leyvas. "Firefighters were able to go into that wash and bring them up one at a time up the ladder they had."
The teens were initially spotted in about six-feet of rushing water by LAUSD officers who attempted an initial rescue.
Both were being evaluated by firefighters on scene.
No further information was immediately available.
