Disneyland has so many rides and attractions that it's easy to get burned out without a plan of action. To help with the planning process, here is a guide to the best things to do in Disneyland.
The Fastpass System
Spending a few hours waiting in line for the most popular rides is a thing of the past at Disneyland. The Fastpass system allows you to make a reservation for a ride and avoid wasting time in line. As soon as you enter the park, visit the Fastpass kiosk near one of the most popular rides. Then you're free to visit other attractions until your reserved time, when you have the pleasure of going to the head of the line.
Experience A Thrill
If you like thrill rides, several are scattered throughout Disneyland. The best are Splash Mountain, a half-mile water ride with heart-dropping plunges, and Indiana Jones Adventure, which puts you into a speeding Hummer and immerses you in a quest for the Jewel of Power. For the adventuresome, these rides are the best things to do in Disneyland. If you're up to the challenge, don't forget to get a Fastpass.
Indulge Your Imagination
You'll gain an appreciation for the art of Disney by experiencing some of the attractions where creativity shines, such as the Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion. If you're visiting with young children, take them to Fantasyland and Toontown to meet their favorite characters from Disney movies and cartoons. Peter Pan's Flight in Fantasyland and the Mickey Mouse House in Toontown are two of the most popular attractions for children.
Let Them Entertain You
Disney is an entertainment company, so don't pass up a chance to see one of the many free parades or shows. The cast members are talented and the energy level is always high. Whether you're visiting Disneyland with children or with your inner child, we think you'll agree that watching live entertainment is one of the best things to do in Disneyland.
Relax On The Disney Railroad
The best-kept secret in Disneyland is the Disney Railroad, which circles the perimeter of the park. It's a great way to travel between the different areas of Disneyland. An added bonus is an animated diorama about natural history located in a tunnel between Tomorrowland and Main Street. When you feel the need to relax and regroup, hop on the train and enjoy a scenic ride around the park.
