Banish Wrinkles While You Sleep With Tips From Beauty Bean

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — Alexis Wolfer, Founder of Beauty Bean, has the scoop on beauty product that work while you sleep!

When you're not sleeping enough, your body becomes stressed. Your hormones abnormally constrict or dilate our blood vessels, which results in poor circulation, and cortisol levels rise, causing the skin's sebaceous glands to secrete more oil. Also, when stressed, we breathe less deeply which, believe it or not, affects the oxygenation on our skin, leading to a dulled, parched and less-supple. Bottom line: our complexions dull, lines and wrinkles become more visible and breakouts, well, break out.

And while the obvious answer is to get more sleep, just because hitting snooze isn't an option, doesn't mean you can't get a bigger beauty bang out of the sleep you do get. So, boost your beauty sleep with these tips that will prevent wrinkles, soften soles and even help your hair grow faster!

Prepare Your Skin

Before heading to bed, there are a few things you can do to allow whatever limited amount of shut eye you do get to work double duty! First of all, always cleanse your skin before bed (hitting the sheets with makeup on is a recipe for clogged mores, dull skin and more). And, while you're at it, you may as well use a cleanser that will prep your skin for some serious self-repair overnight – like Sebamed's Liquid Cleanser ($12.95) that is the exact PH level of healthy skin – just what you need for healthier, prettier skin come morning!

Guarantee More Refreshed Looking Eyes

One of the biggest beauty industry secrets to looking more awake is longer, curlier eye lashes, which instantly open the eye making it look like you've gotten more sleep than you have. To save time in the morning and keep you looking great, apply a lash growth product like Urban Decay Lush Lash System ($42), which you don't need a prescription for and does the trick – all while you sleep!

Reduce Under Eye Puffiness

If you tend to wake up with puffy eyes or dark under eye circles (which are caused by decreased facial oxygenation, reduced circulation and water retention), try to sleep on your back, with your head elevated at night by propping up your pillow in order to reduce the accumulation of fluids in your face. Similarly, use caffeinated eye cream like Orgins Ginzing Refreshing Eye Cream ($29.50), which will help promote circulation and reduce the appearance of under eye circles, even if you can't get a full 8 hours of sleep. And, as always, limit your alcohol and sodium intake, which will cause you retain fluids.

Prevent Wrinkles, Reduce Hair Breakage & Wake up with Great Hair

It may seem unlikely, but the fact is that your pillow cases could be causing wrinkles and bad hair days! Those creases you wake up with on your face from laying face-first on a cotton pillowcase can actually lead to permanent wrinkles! With a quick swap of your cotton pillowcase to a silk or satin pillowcase, though, you can help protect your face from fine lines and wrinkles. Similarly, the fiber of your hair can actually break when rubbing against a cotton pillow case, so wrap your head in a silk scarf t prevent damage – and comb an argan oil-based product through your hair before bed to nourishes and strengthens your hair. If you want to wake up with waves, pin you hair in small buns or braids before bed. If volume is your goal, pin your hair in a topknot or half-up, half-down. Need even more incentive to hit the sheets? While you're dozing off, your body is busy repairing itself and secreting growth hormones, which work to improve hair health and has even been proven to make your locks grow faster.

Smooth Feet Overnight

Whether you're cramming you toes in heels, scuffing up your soles in sandals or destroying your feet during your workouts, you can revive worn out feet overnight, easily! Just rub a rich lotion or Vaseline on your feet and cover with socks for some serious sole healing all while you're peacefully dreaming – bringing your feet from scary to sandal-ready in no time!

And remember, make sure you get enough shut-eye (ideally 8 hours each night) – the most powerful beauty antidote of them all!
