Author Joe Kissack Discusses 'The Fourth Fisherman'

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — Author Joe Kissack visited the KCAL9 studios Friday to talk about his new book, "The Fourth Fisherman."

Kissack's book will be released on Tuesday, Mar. 13.

It was the subject of headlines around the world: Three Mexican fishermen in a small open boat without any supplies, drifting for over nine months and 5500 miles, across the Pacific Ocean to Australia. They battle blistering sun, threatening storms…and hopelessness. Their sustenance consists of rainwater, raw fish, and turtle blood. Their one lifeline? Faith…and a Bible, carried onboard by one of the men and read until tattered.

Their story alone, teeming with raw drama and courage, would make this book a page-turner, but there's more. Another life adrift, thousands of miles away….

Joe Kissack, a renowned and wealthy Hollywood executive, personifies the American dream. Yet the intense pressure of his high-powered career sends him into a downward spiral, replete with suicidal depression, insidious addictions, and alienation from his family. His lifeline? A friend, with his Bible on the table between them….

In a remarkable way these two stories connect, and become one—an inspirational journey that will buoy your spirits and renew your hope and faith.

Kissack will also be a guest on The Hour of Power Sunday at the Crystal Cathedral.
