Protesters Demonstrate Outside Mayor Emanuel's Home

(CBS) -- A group of about 20 protesters demonstrated outside Mayor Rahm Emanuel's Ravenswood home for hours Tuesday evening after this weekend's fatal police-involved shooting that left a 19-year-old man and 55-year-old woman dead.

The renewed call for Emanuel's resignation rang loud and clear.

"You tricked us before, but you will not trick us again," said protester Ja'Mal Green. "You lost our trust and we're not giving it back. So today we're asking you right in front of your house for Rahm Emanuel to step down."

The group claims they had no choice after this weekend's shooting to bring their message directly to his house. Protesters said they wanted to welcome the the mayor home from his Cuba trip and make sure he knows what happened while he was gone.

People who weren't part of the protest showed support by dropping off coffee and pizzas as the protesters waited for Rahm to get home. Protesters left around 9:00 p.m. The say they plan to come back on Wednesday.
