Move over cupcake, there's a new pastry trend in town. The elevated donut has chefs across the windy city cooking up clever ways to spin the classics. Firecakes Donuts, which opened December of 2012, is serving up a lot more than your average glazed, chocolate and jelly. Another perk for the night owls out there, Firecakes is open until midnight on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Here's the low down on this tasty shop.
The Good Stuff
With both classic donuts and inventive, new flavors, there is sure to be a donut for everyone on this menu. These small-batch donuts are made from scratch using locally sourced ingredients (so you can feel a little better about having a couple). Taking the donut to new levels with fun flavor combinations and unique ingredients, these are quite the creative treat.
