Berkman Discusses His Disgust For Wrigley Field
(CBS) Lance Berkman has spent a lot of time in the Wrigley Field visitors clubhouse - perhaps too much time.
Despite the Cubs announcing a $500 million renovation plan that will immensely upgrade the 100-year-old ballpark, the 37-year-old Berkman is ready to see Wrigley Field go away.
For good.
"If they're looking for a guy to push the button when they blow the place up, I'll do it," he said as the Rangers prepare for a three-game series at Wrigley Field
Apparently, 177 games in the crawlspace known as the visitors clubhouse will do that to you.
It's not even just Wrigley Field - it's the entire city.
"Chicago's one of the worst places in baseball … really for anything," he said.
During the 2010 season, Berkman exercised his no-trade clause, putting the brakes on a deal that would've sent him to the White Sox.
