(ZDNET) SAN FRANCISCO - "Hope for the best, plan for the worst." That's where Judge William Alsup says we are while we wait for a verdict on the copyrights segment of Oracle v. Google at the U.S. District Court this morning.

Yesterday afternoon, the jury returned with the eighth note issued during the deliberation period, which asked, "What happens if we can't reach a unanimous decision and people are not budging?"

Facebook stock will range from $28 to $35 per share. The company's valuation will be from $85 billion to $95 billion.

According to the blog iLounge, the new iPhone will be longer and thinner than previous iPhone models.

"Approximate measurements are 125 mm by 58.5 mm by 7.4 mm - a 10 mm jump in height, nearly 2 mm reduction in thickness, and virtually identical width," an unnamed source told iLounge.

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Smithsonian Institution is preparing an exhibit featuring Apple Inc. co-founder Steve Jobs' more than 300 technology patents on the National Mall with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

The exhibit opening May 11, entitled "The Patents and Trademarks of Steve Jobs: Art and Technology that Changed the World," will be on view through July 13 at the Smithsonian's Ripley Center.

Harvard, MIT to offer free online classes

Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University enter a joint partnership called edX, to provide free classes online.

(CBS News) The Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University are teaming up to bring education to anyone who has an Internet connection.

The prestigeous  universities will launch a $60 million initiative called edX that will offer course material from Harvard and MIT. Courses will consist of "video lesson segments, embedded quizzes, immediate feedback, student-ranked questions and answers, online laboratories and student-paced learning."
