Weather

A historic snowfall has people stuck in their homes and stranded on the roads -- and there's more coming down. CBS News correspondent Jericka Duncan reports the second round of a monster lake effect storm intensified overnight, with winds blowing at 25 mph and thunder-snow lighting up the sky in downtown Buffalo, New York.

Cosby spoke

The first video has surfaced of comedian Bill Cosby responding to a growing number of sexual assault allegations. The Associated Press released video last night from a November 6 interview it conducted with Cosby, when the comedian was promoting an exhibit of artwork he and his wife had lent to the Smithsonian Institution. The video was first published by Time Magazine. Since the interview was recorded, five women have come forward publicly to accuse him of sexual assault.

Immigration action

President Obama will outline tonight the White House says will help millions of undocumented adults and children in the U.S. CBS News chief White House correspondent Major Garrett has a look at how other presidents have dealt with immigration rules, while CBS News congressional correspondent Nancy Cordes reports on the comments on Capitol Hill about Mr. Obama's expected moves.

Common Core

Common Core has become an increasingly hot political issue, as many lawmakers on the state and national levels object to what they see as a federal intrusion into local education policy. When Jeb Bush, the former Florida governor and latest potential presidential candidate, takes the stage in Washington he can probably be expected to defend some policies that are unpopular with the Republican base, including Common Core. Large businesses also support Common Core, hoping for a better educated pool of potential workers. Support from parents has been mixed.

Office space

Most people these days aren't doing backflips for Congress. But after more than a week of grueling orientation, an aide to Rep.-elect Gwen Graham, D-Florida, wanted to make sure the freshman congresswoman had some fanfare as she drew her number in the House of Representatives office lottery.

Crash tests

There are poor reviews for three minivans in new crash tests by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. These tests try to measure what happens to a driver in a front-end collision. CBS News correspondent Wyatt Andrews reports on one of the poorly-rated vans.

Non-invasive heart surgery

Imagine replacing a heart valve without having open heart surgery, then getting out of the hospital in three days? It is a new kind of heart valve surgery that is just beginning to take off.

Shipping frenzy

Holiday shopping on the web is heating up. CBS News correspondent Don Dahler reports that this year, nearly 3.5 million more Americans are expected to join those already shopping online. That's putting more pressure on the nation's delivery services, and they're trying to avoid last year's debacle.

Russian webcams

A Russian-backed website is peering into homes around the world. Many are here in the U.S. Anyone can log on to see the live feeds, from baby monitors to security systems, all with a map straight to your front door. CBS News correspondent Charlie D'Agata reports from London, where the government is demanding that Russia take the site down.

Mini-Monet

Iris Grace Halmshaw is a five year old who loves to paint. But unlike other children her age, Iris, who lives in Leicestershire, England, has art collectors around the world bidding on her work.

Serial podcast

It's an internet sensation that has captured the imagination of millions. CBS News correspondent Jan Crawford reports Apple calls it the most popular "podcast" in the world. It's a real-life crime story about a 15-year-old murder case, and the series is raising new questions about the investigation.
