NEW YORK (CBS) The frenzy surrounding Prince William's engagement to Kate Middleton has spread from newspaper covers to commemorative china to, now, replicas of Middleton's engagement ring.

The ring, an oval sapphire surrounded by diamonds that once belonged to Princess Diana, is the inspiration for similar pieces being sold at both ends of the price spectrum.

Starting on Saturday, QVC will be selling a "Princess Simulated Sapphire Ring" by Kenneth Jay Lane. The ring will be available on its website and sells for $34.50.

For royal watchers looking for a replica in a higher price bracket, New York's The Natural Sapphire Company is also selling its own pieces inspired by Middleton's ring. Versions on its website start at $1,000 and go up from there.
