Momentum

Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton both racked up resounding victories on Tuesday night. Yet the closer the Republican and Democratic front-runners get to securing their respective party's presidential nomination, the more their primary opponents seem to entrench for a long fight.

Uphill battle

With Marco Rubio now out of the Republican race and a slew of moderate-heavy blue state primaries left to go, Ohio Gov. John Kasich could just eek out a miracle and stop the Donald Trump juggernaut. But it will be a steep climb, and Trump will now try to throw anything he can grab in Kasich's path.

Contested convention?

This summer's Republican convention could be the first of its kind in more than 60 years. Donald Trump has widened his lead in the delegate count, but his loss in Ohio makes it unclear if he can secure the 1,237 delegates required by July to avert a contested convention.

Justice-to-be?

President Obama is to announce his nominee to fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court this morning. The President will introduce his choice in the White House Rose Garden. In spite of Republican opposition to him even making a nomination, Mr. Obama is urging Senators "to do their job," and hold a vote.

Severe weather

Violent weather pounding the Midwest has spawned widespread damage. There are reports of multiple tornadoes that touched down Tuesday, including one that hit northwest of Springfield, Illinois. Meanwhile, in Texas, flooding is still a major concern.

Public Wi-Fi

Thirty-four million Americans still don't have basic broadband access to the Internet -- almost 10 percent of the population. New York City wants to help change that by replacing old pay phones with Wi-Fi hotspots. It's one of the world's most ambitious public Wi-Fi projects, but it's raising security concerns.

Diesel backlash

Volkswagen's emissions scandal, in which the German automaker was caught cheating on pollution controls, has caused another casualty in the U.S.: sales of diesel sedans. Could the stain on VW's reputation permanently quash American motorists' interest in diesel vehicles?
