Saint-Denis

Residents of the Paris subub of Saint-Denis cowered under beds and held their children close as gunfire rang out and explosions rocked their neighborhood. Saint-Denis is full of people living on the fringe of French society, and it has seen trouble before. It is also where French police believed on Wednesday morning that they had cornered the mastermind of the carnage in Paris.

Anti-ISIS coalition

In Manila, the Russian prime minister said the best way to combat ISIS is to unite with the West, and President Obama seems to agree. But President Obama says there's a catch: Russia must first help end the Syrian civil war. We look at how how a potential partnership between the two world superpowers is developing.

Refugees in U.S.

House Republicans have put together a task force to write legislation that would stop the administration's plan to resettle 10,000 Syrian refugees in the U.S., after one of the terrorists responsible for the Paris attacks was found with a Syrian passport. Lawmakers in the House could vote on a plan as soon as Thursday

Vetting refugees

As Republicans express increasing concerns over the vetting process for Syrian refugees, Obama administration officials say a great deal of those concerns are based on "misinformation." State Department officials have tried to reassure people that the process of screening refugees is robust and secure.

Cosmetic oversight

Americans spend more than $50 billion every year on beauty and skin care products. But there's little oversight into what goes into the products we're putting on our skin and hair. Now a bipartisan group of lawmakers and industry leaders say that has got to change. Jan Crawford reports.
