Terror shooting

Authorities say a new arrest is linked to a terror investigation in Massachusetts. FBI and Boston police say task force members shot and killed a man they tried to stop for questioning, ending a months-long investigation of Usaama Rahim. Authorities say he was recently radicalized, inspired by ISIS propaganda. CBS News correspondent Jeff Pegues reports the FBI believed he was armed and dangerous and there was an immediate threat to police.

Interpol alert

Sepp Blatter's shocking announcement yesterday of his planned resignation as FIFA president doesn't mean the global soccer body is now fixed, says CBS News correspondent Mark Phillips, and it certainly doesn't mean Blatter and FIFA are off the hook. Interpol has just put six men with ties to Blatter on its most-wanted list, including Jack Warner -- the former FIFA vice-president from Trinidad and Tobago, who's been accused of taking a $10 million bribe to support the successful South African bid for the 2010 World Cup.

Killed by lion

In a tragic irony, 29-year-old Katherine Chapell was in South Africa to raise money for organizations working against poaching. The New Yorker won an Emmy award for video editing last year for her work on "Game of Thrones." But when she visited the popular lion park, it was no fantasy, but a real-life horror story.

South China Sea

As China grows in power, economically and militarily, it is "beginning to spread its wings and to bear its fangs a bit," said CBS News senior national security analyst Juan Zarate. Beijing's latest actions in the South China Sea, he said, are the manifestation of what many experts have predicted is an inevitable competition between China and the U.S. How will the U.S. relationship with China change?

Sandy's wrath

Superstorm Sandy is still wreaking damage nearly three years after it ravaged the East Coast. Some 10,000 trees in New York City are dead or dying due to the long-term impact of the salt water dumped on the region by the 2012 hurricane, according to filings with the Federal Emergency Management Agency. That's nearly as many trees as the city lost in the deadly disaster, which is blamed for 182 deaths and $65 billion in economic losses in several states.

Bullying and depression

Bullying makes adolescence miserable for millions of kids. Now research suggests its effects linger for years, and may increase the risk of depression in young adulthood.

Honor, finally

President Obama awarded the Medal of Honor yesterday, posthumously, to two veterans of World War I: William Shemin of New York and Henry Johnson of North Carolina. The overdue award ceremony comes nearly 100 years after the men served, prompting Mr. Obama to say: "We believe it's never too late to say thank you."

Abbey Road

One of the world's most famous landmarks in music is finding a new voice. Fans of the Beatles and other recording greats now have an "all-access pass" to Abbey Road studios, online. CBS News correspondent Charlie D'Agata got rare access to the real thing. He shows us how it continues to create magic -- and mystique.
