The FBI is investigating the mysterious death of an American woman aboard a cruise ship in the Caribbean. The 52-year-old woman died Tuesday morning, after reportedly plunging from the upper deck of a Royal Princess cruise ship that was heading to Aruba from Fort Lauderdale. Aruba-based media report a man was seen choking the woman before the fall, and her death is being treated as a possible murder. In a statement to CBS News, Princess Cruises said, "we are deeply saddened by this incident and offer our sincere condolences to the family and those affected."
Hate crime incidents targeting Jews and Jewish institutions in the U.S. spiked by about 37 percent between 2016 and 2017, according to data released Tuesday by the FBI. Overall, hate crimes based on race, ethnicity, religion or ancestry were the most common, making up about 80 percent of the total. CBS News' Mola Lenghi reports.
