Two Donald Trumps

Donald Trump laid out his strident immigration plans in a highly-anticipated speech. It came on the heels of his first foreign visit with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, where Trump struck a much softer tone. In his speech, the GOP nominee ended his public flirtation with a softer immigration policy.

Storm’s coming

Tropical Storm Hermine is gaining strength and is now projected to reach hurricane status. The latest forecast shows it hitting Florida tonight with 60 mph winds before moving up the East Coast, and the National Hurricane center is warning of possible “life-threatening inundation.”

Toxic land

Federal officials need more than a million dollars to help an Indiana community relocate from its lead-poisoned land. The EPA has placed signs at a low-income housing complex, warning people not to “play in the dirt.” More than 1,000 people who live there are being forced to uproot their lives.

American influx

A lot more U.S. passenger jets will soon start flying to Cuba after yesterday’s historic first commercial flight to the island in half of a century. The Department of Transportation has given approval for eight airlines to fly to Havana. As CBS News has learned, there’s a lot of work for Cuba to do before then.

Higher than ever

An increasing number of U.S. adults are using marijuana, and attitudes about the drug are shifting -- fewer people perceive pot as harmful, according to a new study published in The Lancet Psychiatry. Some of the figures are pretty shocking.

In the first of a two-part series, we look at what companies and industries could benefit -- along with those that could take a hit -- if Hillary Clinton wins in November.
