Mario Cuomo
Mario Cuomo, a son of Italian immigrants who became an eloquent spokesman for a generation of liberal Democrats during his three terms as New York governor, has died. He was 82. The New York state governor's office confirmed Cuomo died yesterday, the day his son Andrew started his second term as governor of the state.
Hunt intensifies
More ships arrived this morning with sensitive equipment to hunt for the fuselage of AirAsia Flight 8501 and the more than 100 people still missing since it crashed into the sea five days ago. CBS News Correspondent Allen Pizzey reports efforts have been be stepped up as long as the weather allows.
Humiliated mother
Elit Kirschenbaum, a New Jersey mother of four, is accusing United Airlines of humiliating her and her family on a recent flight from the Dominican Republic. CBS News Correspondent Elaine Quijano spoke with Kirschenbaum and her husband, an interview you'll see only on CBS This Morning.
Fast flu
The flu is getting a fast start on 2015. It is now widespread in 36 states, and CBS News Correspondent Mark Strassmann reports it is wider spread than usual at this time of year.

The Consumer Electronics Association's 2015 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) kicks off Tuesday, Jan. 6.
