Slipped through

The day after the true identity of assumed ISIS executioner "Jihadi John" was revealed, some very important questions remain unanswered - the first and foremost being, where is he now and how and when will he be brought to justice? But of equal, if not greater long-term importance, the British government needs to answer questions about how he managed -- in spite of at least five years of monitoring by security services -- to reach ISIS territory.

Drones

On the heels of releasing new proposed rules on drones, the Federal Aviation Administration is concerned about a dramatic increase in the number of unmanned aircraft flying near planes, CBS News has learned. Correspondent Jeff Pegues reports with a story you'll see only on "CBS This Morning."

Guns on campus

There's a new push to let college students bring guns to school, with lawmakers in 13 states considering so-called campus carry bills. Supporters believe armed students could stop violent crimes like college sexual assaults but, as CBS News Correspondent Michelle Miller reports, the controversy is dividing students.

Neutrality wars

The FCC ruling that the Internet will be regulated as a common carrier was a victory for "net neutrality" advocates, but is only the opening shot in what will be long battle in the courts and Congress. Here is what to expect next.

Securing the base

CPAC, the largest gathering of conservatives all year, brought the GOP A-list to Washington, D.C. a full 21 months before the next presidential election. CBS News correspondent Nancy Cordes reports many likely Republican presidential hopefuls were among them, making their cases and illustrating their targets.

Social cleric

U.S. authorities are tracking a man they say is influencing ISIS followers from his home in Michigan -- using social media to inspire jihad. CBS News correspondent Jeff Pegues reports Ahmad Musa Jibril is a Palestinian-American cleric whose extremist views caught the attention of U.S. law enforcement.

Environmental celebrities

A 22-year battle between environmental activists and oil giant Chevron (CVX) over pollution in the Amazon jungle took a strange turn this week, with a New York public relations firm involved in the fight filing suit actress Sharon Stone.

D.C. pot

Adam Eidinger didn't waste any time. As soon as recreational marijuana became legal in the District of Columbia yesterday, the man who led the effort invited the press over to watch as he smoked a joint at his D.C. home. In November, district voters overwhelmingly approved Initiative 71, which allows adults to grow up to six plants and carry up to two ounces of pot. It's still illegal to sell the drug or smoke it outdoors. But, CBS News correspondent Julianna Goldman reports, some Republicans in Congress say it's all against the law.

White or blue?

A question posed about the color of a dress nearly caused the fabric of the Internet to unravel Thursday night, with people engaged in spirited debate over the color of the $80 item. CBS News correspondent Elaine Quijano reports the "dress-gate" controversy began on a Tumblr page and racked up over 20 million views on Buzzfeed.
