Amanda Bynes: I'm going to study psychology

Just two days after reportedly telling In Touch that she's engaged, Amanda Bynes has returned to Twitter to drop another little nugget of news about her personal life.

"I'm transferring to NYU or Columbia from FIDM to study psychology, so you'll see me in New York if you live here but I HATE stalkers!" she tweeted.

The former child star had previously been enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising to pursue a fashion career.

Bynes, 28, last updated her Twitter in May. This time, though, she had a lot to say, also tweeting: "Don't believe anything the tabloids are saying about me. They dislike me for some odd reason & they continue to insult me everyday," adding, "Treat others how you want to be treated. The truth will set you free."

It's unclear what she was referring to with those particular tweets, but it does put the In Touch engagement story further into question.

The comments come shortly after her recent arrest in Los Anglees on DUI charges.

Bynes underwent psychiatric treatment last year after authorities said she set a small fire in the driveway of a Los Angeles-area home. She pleaded no contest to alcohol-related reckless driving in February and was sentenced to three years of probation. Before that, she was under scrutiny for an alleged bong-throwing incident in New York. The case was later dismissed.

Bynes starred in her own Nickelodeon series, "The Amanda Show" and appeared in several movies, including "What a Girl Wants," "Hairspray" and "She's the Man."
