Prince Philip will remain in the hospital under observation for a few days.

The hospital visit comes in the middle of the queen's Diamond Jubilee, a four-day celebration commemorating her 60-year-reign.

The queen will still attend tonight's gala at Buckingham Palace featuring music by Paul McCartney, Elton John and others. The press office says the 90-year-old prince is "disappointed to miss this evening's events."

In December, the prince was hospitalizedafter receiving treatment for a blocked coronary artery.

On Sunday, Prince Philip joined the queen and senior royals on the River Thames in cold and blustery weather for a pageant in honor of Elizabeth's 60 years on the throne.
