Lea Michele says goodbye to "Glee" with Finn's jersey

The halls of McKinley High will soon empty out forever.

The "Glee" cast recently taped the Fox show's last episode, and series star Lea Michele paid tribute with series of photos on Instagram.

Among them is a sentimental shot, showing Michele leaving the set with the No. 5 football jersey worn by Finn Hudson, played by actor her on- and off-screen love, Cory Monteith, who died in July 2013 at age 31. This one really tugs at the heartstrings.

One last thing. ❤️

"I can't believe tomorrow is our last day at glee. It is going to be such an emotional day. But I'm so grateful though to have had...this incredibly amazing experience," Michele, 28, tweeted before the final day of taping. "Thank you so much to all of our amazing Gleeks who supported us so much! I love you guys. We were so lucky to have had the most amazing crew who worked so hard everyday to make the show amazing. I'm so grateful for them...So thank you all again so much from the bottom of my heart. I will miss Rachel Berry so very much."

Michele is reportedly involved with a guy named Matthew Peatz, according to Us Weekly.

The two-hour "Glee" finale airs March 20 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
