Kanye West booked and released from Los Angeles police custody: Report

Kanye West reportedly turned himself into Los Angeles police custody Thursday over an assault case involving a photographer.

According to TMZ, the 36-year-old rapper was booked and released by the LAPD in under an hour.

Earlier this month, West pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor battery charge.

West had been accused of assaulting photographer Daniel Ramos and wrestling his camera to the ground in July at Los Angeles International Airport.

He was sentenced to two years of probation and required to complete 24 hours of anger management therapy sessions in addition to 250 hours of community service.

The rapper, who recently appeared on the cover of Vogue with fiancee Kim Kardashian, reported to the police station for booking Thursday as part of his plea.

West had been arrested in 2008 for another physical encounter with photographers at LAX. That case was dismissed when he agreed to pay for the photographers' damaged equipment and attend anger management treatment.

In January, West was involved in another altercation with a man who is said to have used a racial slur towards Kardashian. The rapper reached a settlement with the man and no charges were filed.
