Lawyers for widow Vanessa Bryant allege in the suit that photos of his remains and daughter Gianna's from the helicopter crash site where they died were found on numerous Sheriff's Dept. and firefighter devices.
Plaintiffs in the suit included Vanessa Bryant and her three surviving daughters, John James and Alexis Altobelli, Christopher Chester and his two surviving children and Matthew Mauser and his three children.
"You're not just an MVP, you're an all-time great," she said in a moving speech.
The four L.A. County Sheriff's Department deputies allegedly shared graphic photos of the crash site with people who had no connection to the investigation.

The helicopter crashed in January last year amid heavy fog.
"I miss my baby girl and Kob-Kob so much, too," Bryant wrote. "I will never understand why/how this tragedy could've happened to such beautiful, kind and amazing human beings."
LeBron James posted a message dedicated to Bryant on Instagram with his ring: "Love and miss you my brother!"
Bryant donated it to the National Museum of African American History and Culture in 2017.
The Sports Academy, previously led by the Lakers legend, said its mission to athletes "remains unchanged."
She said wanted to wait for her birthday to open the letter: "It gave me something to look forward to today."
The mural depicts a well-known photo of Gianna and her dad, but the artist added a special tribute: a halo positioned between them.

"When Kobe Bryant died, a piece of me died," Jordan said. "As I look in this arena and across the globe, a piece of you died."
Thousands attended the "celebration of life" for Bryant and others killed in a helicopter crash last month.
"Babe, you take care of our Gigi," Vanessa Bryant said during her emotional tribute to her husband and daughter.
The wrongful death lawsuit filed by Vanessa Bryant said the pilot was careless and negligent by flying in cloudy conditions and should have aborted the flight.
Odes to Bryant were on full display during the All-Star Game in Chicago.
