1,000 Mornings
News is back in the mornings, and we thank our viewers for tuning in for the past 1,000 episodes. Today we take a look back at some of "CBS This Morning's" memorable moments, as guests including Oprah, Diplo, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Bradley Cooper check in to offer their congratulations.
Budget deal
The Senate passed a comprehensive budget deal early Friday morning that lifts the debt ceiling into March 2017 and spending levels for two years. It now heads to President Obama's desk. The White House has signaled that Mr. Obama will sign the bill early next week -- before the United States loses the ability to borrow money to pay its debts.
Hillary Clinton
The Democratic presidential frontrunner will roll out two proposals to reform the criminal justice system today in Atlanta, where she is set to launch "African Americans for Hillary" with two campaign events. One of the proposals would change sentencing laws for crack and cocaine offenses that Clinton says disproportionately affect the African American community.
Unacceptable force
When Richland County Senior Deputy Ben Fields wrapped his forearm around the neck of a South Carolina high school student, flipping her and her desk backward onto the floor and tossing her several feet across a classroom, it led to his quick suspension, and then firing. The sheriff says Fields' "use of force was unacceptable," but the rules for acceptable tactics for officers in schools varies widely.
Bus driver
An Iowa school bus driver is behind bars, accused of assaulting a special needs student. Other students recorded the disturbing, violent confrontation on their cell phones in the back of the crowded bus. Some of those students are now speaking out about what happened.
Tesla Autopilot
Tesla rolled out its new autopilot system in the Model S just over two weeks ago, calling it a step on the path to a self-driving car. Tesla owners have been experimenting with the technology, and a few have posted video of the frightening results online. We take the driver's seat and let the car take over for a test drive.
PewDiePie
YouTube personality Felix Kjellberg, also known as PewDiePie, set a record last month by reaching 10 billion views. He has 40 million YouTube followers and counting -- more than Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift combined. His reach transcends nationality, language and culture. How did the 26-year-old Swede do it?
