The clearest video yet to emerge of the Istanbul nightclub attacker has come from his own phone. A clip shows the man, being identified by Turkish media as a Kyrgyz national, walking the streets of Istanbul on what appears to have been a possible reconnaissance mission. As the hunt for the gunman continues, police have raided an apartment and have reportedly questioned his wife.
GOP takeover
The 115th Congress will be sworn in today, with the Republicans controlling both the House and the Senate. When President-elect Donald Trump takes office, it will be the first time in a decade that the GOP finds itself in charge of both houses of Congress and the Executive Branch.
Obamacare battle
With the new Congress set to convene today, Democrats are mounting an aggressive messaging campaign against Republican efforts to repeal Obamacare, touting its benefits and warning that repealing President Obama’s signature healthcare law would lead to tens of millions of Americans losing coverage.
