Sunday: Chris Christie, Jeff Flake, and Alberto Gonzales

After Donald Trump’s continuing back-and-forth on immigration, and Hillary Clinton’s continued Clinton Foundation headache, where does the race for the White House stand? We’ll take a look this Sunday on “Face the Nation”.

We’ll talk with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, an early and aggressive supporter of Trump, about the GOP nominee’s recent trip to Mexico, his visit this weekend to a black church in Detroit, and more. Is Trump’s outreach genuine? And how is Trump preparing for his debates against Clinton?

We’ll also talk with Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake, a Republican who’s not endorsed Trump’s bid. Was Flake encouraged by Trump’s recent moves on immigration policy? Or has he fully closed the door on the possibility of supporting the GOP nominee?

We’ll have an interview with former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, whose new book “True Faith and Allegiance” chronicles his time serving in George W. Bush’s administration. We’ll ask Gonzales about the memoir and get his take on the 2016 election. He’s occasionally defended Trump during the campaign; what does he think of the choice voters will face in November?

We’ll also have new poll numbers out of Pennsylvania and North Carolina, along with a look at a sample of voters across 11 swing states, with a new edition of the CBS News Battleground Tracker. CBS News Elections Director Anthony Salvanto will be on hand to help us make sense of the numbers.

Finally, as always, we’ll turn to an expert political panel to dissect the busy news week. This Sunday’s panelists will include USA Today’s Susan Page, the National Review’s Ramesh Ponnuru, the Atlantic’s Molly Ball, and Slate Magazine’s Jamelle Bouie, also a CBS News political analyst.

It’s going to be an exciting broadcast, so make sure you tune in! Check your local listings for airtimes.
