"She's All That" remake reportedly in the works

"She's All That" could be getting new life on the big screen.

Is Hollywood out of ideas? 02:41

The 1999 teen rom-com hit, which starred Freddie Prinze Jr. and Rachael Leigh Cook, is reportedly getting a remake.

According to TheWrap, the project is being developed by The Weinstein Company and Miramax. Spike Lee's wife, Tonya Lewis Lee, will produce the film, and Kenny Leon is slated to direct.

The "Pygmalion"-inspired film followed a jock (Prinze) who made a bet that he could turn an artsy loner (Cook) into their high school's prom queen. The cast also included Paul Walker, Matthew Lillard, Anna Paquin, Usher, Dule Hill, Gabrielle Union, Kieran Culkin and Clea DuVall.

Per TheWrap, The Weinstein Company didn't immediately respond to requests for comment, while a rep for Miramax denied there's a deal in place at this time.

But while there's no official confirmation on the project, Prinze Jr. did weigh in on the matter Tuesday on Twitter. One user tweeted at him about the reported remake, saying, "You know, just Hollywood running out of ideas one more time. But what's new?" -- and he responded with, "tough for writers with original scripts."
