NEW YORK (CBS) Royal watchers will have not one, but two weddings to look forward to next year.

Prince William and Kate Middleton announced on Thursday that are engaged and will marry next spring or summer. No date has been revealed, but whenever the wedding takes place, it will likely be the biggest affair since William's mother, Diana, married Prince Charles in July 1981.

The other royal wedding on the agenda will take place in Monaco - Prince Albert II announced on June 23 that he was engaged to longtime girlfriend Charlene Wittstock.

The son of Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier III will marry the South African former Olympic swimmer in a civil ceremony on July 2, followed by a religious ceremony in  the principality's cathedral the next day.
